Default Friction point

Hey guys,

Im not sure if its me or my clutch but it feels like my friction point has moved lower. I have to push more for the clutch the engage and it gets released alot quicker.

Ive done a search, some suggest that air might be stuck in the fluid and it might be best to bleed the clutch.

Has anyone here had the same problem, if so what did you do and how much did it cost?

Ive recently had a major service done and im pretty sure the clutch fluid has been changed.

it happened to me last month. check your clutch fluid level first. what i did for the quicker way is. i suck out all the clutch fluid from reservoir by using a syringe, then top it up by new brake fluid, get back into the car and step on the clutch and push it up and down for many times ( for pushing the air out of the fluid. i let my friend do it, and i can see there are bubbles come up in the reservoir) repeat this process for 2-3 times. then you should be fine.
why i did it in this way is my 80k service coming up really soon, i will do the fluid flush by then.

Check your clutch pedal.. there is an adjustment there with a locking bolt... could be loose?

have you now got alot more "free play" with your clutch pedal ? what i mean by that is , when you press your clutch pedal , you can feel it go further to the floor before it tightens up ?

if so , ive got the remedy .

hey guys thanks for the replies, btw vuey i think i saw you on hume hwy today at about 2:30! you were about 4-5 cars behind me hahaha..

I tried pumping the clutch a few times, i think it feels better.

I think i might bring it back to hanny's over the weekend if it still feels the same.

Does anyone know how much flushing the fluid and replacing it might cost?

And vuey, yes i have alot more free play now, FEELS like i have to push abit more untill the clutch is in, or so i think. Ill have to get it checked out.

Can someone please tell me how to locate the clutch fluid? lol... =)

pop your bonnet , its located up near the back of the engine bay . If you cant get to hanny's right away , top it up with clutch/brake fluid , pump the pedal until it feels tight again .

Its a simple fix , hannys will replace the clutch master seals for about $120-140 - 30min job . Most places will insist on changing the whole cyclinder for about $380-400 .
