so i was caught doing 114km in a 90km fixed speed camera going up to newcastle a few months back.
i wrote a letter into the police infringement bureau asking for leniency, i was being extremely diplomatic in my letter and stated facts such as no previous speeding fines, etc.
and u know wat, they let me off.

ps the 90km zone used to be a 110km zone so i was speeding anyways if it was the previous speed,
so i say, GOTCHA SUCKAS!!!!!

Not unusual. First offence they will let you off, second offensive and your in the slammer.

'In the slammer' sounds a bit harsh. I'm sure it would just be a speeding fine of greater magnitude.

I recently got a speeding fine too - last Saturday (04/10) I got a little excited when I turned on to Lakeside Drive (part of the Melbourne Grand Prix track) and got caught doing 86 in a 50 zone (never realised it was a 50 zone anyway).

Normally this would be 6 months loss of license and a considerable fine, but the cop dropped it down to 74 in a 50 zone (the limit before loss of license is now 25 over) which means all I pay is a $200 fine and lose 3 points.

Pretty happy with that considering!
