just the fronts, same size, slotted or drilled?
drilled is for looks, as they have been known to fracture

Trav, or egSi / undergroundimports.com.au @ OzHonda Traders can do the DBA rotors for $480 a pair if anyone is interested :
If this is the DBA 4000 cross-drilled & slotted, it's a good price. However, if it's for a normal Kangaroo Paw or DBA 4000 plain blank, it isn't so great. I suggest slotted only and no cross-drilled for improved braking. And local auto shops with a higher purchase volume will no doubt do a better price than online traders when DBA is concerned. Head into a shop and make a bargain.

I worked with DBA when they were develping the S2000 rotors (long life and Gold) but have never got around to getting a set. I am also a dealer for them and can get some pretty good prices.

If we can get a few together I could organise a GB.

Correct. These are the slotted DBA 4000 series for $480 a pair.

Hey Aus, I'm up for a GB. Put me down for front and rears.

how do these compare with oem rotors?
and its the same diameter im guessing.
im wondering what im doing wrong as i have clocked up 88k km and my brakes and pads are fine, plenty of material left.
but ill definitely be interested in teh rotors when the time comes, especially if the price is comparable

All DBA rotors for the AP1/2 are the same diameter and specifications as OEM rotors, vented front and solid rear.

The DBA 4000 slotted non cross-drilled ones are ideal for trackwork, cheap enough to replace as frequently as you need. Quality wise, it definitely dissipates the heat and last longer than OEM rotors for strict trackwork comparisons. Good enough for track, road use would never be an issue.

Want something better? There are specific custom 2 piece rotors available from US or Japan where heat dissipation is significantly improved. However, one of such rotors equates to the price of 4 without including shipping/freight costs. Not optimum without proper BBK upgrades.

IMHO it really depends on what you want to do with the car and how much money you want to waste. The GTR brake costs that much because the car NEEDS it on the track. GTR is a heavy car and has always been known to stresses out the brake system. I got an almost stock GTR brake system glowing hot on the street once. It was very visual appealing at night time but not very good for the confidence

BBK is only good for look or if you track a high powered FI f20c. The stock s2k brake system is extremely good. My stock brake with bendix pad had no problem with the vortech supercharger on the track. After high boost with a turbo it faded with repeated braking on hilly roads. I slotted the 4 stock rotors and this helped a little bit. Cant wait to get the car back and install some bbk.

The downside of bbk is replacement cost My 2 gtr front rotors got small cracks. I've been quoted $460 each....ouch!

BTW has anyone got dba for the s2k? Any problem with cracking?

I do almost all my driving in the AP1 on the track, the DBA 4000 slotted rotors stops fine and won't crack, however it does not dissipate heat quick enough, overtime you'd end up with alot of heat spots. In effect making the rotors unoptimum in stopping.

It has a lot to do with driving style. I hardly ever overheat my brakes on track but Naishou drove me car stock and overheated the brakes on lap 4. Basically he was confident enough to brake harder, later, and put much more stress on them.
