Default Oem Central locking remote

Hello,
My s2k never came with the remotes, previous owner must have lost them
I believe the oem remotes can be programmed/reprogrammed. For those of you with aftermarket alarms, if you still have your oem remotes lying around, could I plz buy them of you. I'm sick of using the key to lock/unlock doors
Thanks guys.

Just buy a cheap remote door unlock unit from ebay. I bought one for $40 and installed in my GF's Vento.

I contacted the sellers on eBay but they reckon it only works on usdm s2k's
I'll ring the wreckers around here and see if anyone has a spare lying around.

Update:

Firstly thank you all for ur input.

I bought a used remote from the wreckers for $45 today. It was of a 2000 s2k.
took me a minute to program the remote to my car. Lock/unlock/trunk all work fine
Honda dealer wanted $230 for a brand new remote.

What is the process to get your new remote to learn your system?

Gents,

Shown below is a step-by-step guide on programming the remote. apparently up to 4 remotes can be programmed to a car. i only programmed one remote as its the only one i have. i believe the remotes for the crv, civic, oddesey of similar years also work on the s2k. If your current remote is a 3 button, then get a 3 button remote or else it is unlikely to work. Anyway, here we go.....

Close doors, hood, trunk.
1. Ignition ON.
2. Within 1-4 secs. push lock or unlock while aiming the remote at the receiver.
3. Within 1-4 secs, turn OFF ignition.
4. Within 1-4 secs, turn ON ign.
5. Within 1-4 secs, repeat (2.)
6. Within 1-4 secs, turn OFF ign.
7. Within 4 secs, turn ON ign.
8. Within 1-4 secs, repeat (2.)
9. Within 1-4 secs, turn OFF ign.
10. Within 4 secs, turn ON ign.
11. Within 1-4 secs, repeat (2.)
12. Confirm that you hear the door lock actuators. Within 1-4 secs, push the transmitter lock or unlock button again. The keyless receiver is now in the program mode. You must push the transmitter lock or unlock button of the first transmitter again to program that remote.
13. Within 10 secs, aim the transmitters (up to three) whose codes you want to store at the receiver, and press the transmitter lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stored.
14. Turn ign. OFF, and pull out the key.
15. Confirm the operation of the new codes.

mine was messing around all i don was opened it and put some wd40 spray on it and its working perfect i even swapped the 2 rubbers the other way around works good i didn't at no point take the battery of the terminals from in the fob. as long as the rubbers on the buttons a not ripped should be ok. even if you get a new plastic fob just put the chip in and your good to go.
