Redbook value
Due to a number of recent circumstances I am considering selling the S.
Was curious about the market value so I checked up on Redbook:
2001 HONDA S2000
Roadster 2dr Man 6sp 2.0i
Prices based on km 50,000 - 90,000
Trade in price guide* $29,600 - $32,600
National average price - private sale* $33,900 - $38,900
Price when new (RRP) $75,249
http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/vehic...hp?key=HOND01SH
The above figures seem relatively low in comparison to what's for sale at the moment here in WA:
Dealer:
2000 75,900kms $39,990 SILVER
2000 52,321kms $42,900 SILVER
2000 73,116kms $42,900 BLACK
Private:
1999 100000kms $34000 SILVER
2000 low kms $45000 SILVER
2001 61,000kms $41990 SILVER (HARD TOP INCLUDED)
2001 69000kms $38500 RED
What would be the best way to go about determining a price to sell?
Would it be fair to go by the WA market value which doesn't quite reflect on the values stipulated in Redbook?
Mine is:
2001 77000kms Yellow
Mods: Full body kit, lightweight japanese rims, HKS exhaust, full stereo install

I agree with TAAXED!! You can up your price a little bit more than market price because your s2000 is Yellow! I don't think you'll get much back from the mods...

Why do you think the redbook prices are low? You do realise that the advertised prices in black are asking prices and the silver 00 model is a rather high one at that, right? Trade in prices are what the dealer will give you for it which is always an exercise in ankle grabbing.
Best way to determine your asking price would be to consider what you would take for it. In other words how much money would someone have to offer you to convince you to sell it. That might be a high number and it may be too high but if you don't have any other factors forcing you to sell than you can just wait around till such a time and then adjust your price accordingly.
For instance one of the members here used to have his advertised for about $4k too high with the plan that if anyone was silly enough to swallow that then he'd get rid of it and other wise he'd keep it.
Of course if you plan on selling it in a timely fashion then you need to be competitive with the market not just what someone that's not even entertaining buying it tells you its worth.
p.s part it out or expect the be reamed

Igs !!! you selling the S ?
getting abit of a reputation around the high schools eh ? too many "reported" incidents involving 16 yr olds ? so you need to sell your car ? ahahahaa
mate , AustBlue is spot on . Just log onto carsales , trading post etc to see what comparative 2001 S2000's are selling for and that would be your starting point . As for yellow ? yes its abit rarer , but really , you would have to be a hectic mofo like yourself to buy it , as you cant have some 45kg ricer driving a yellow S2k , bloke would get jacked !!!
