Default Require new fornt tyres for Type R Integra:Reccomendations please ?

Hello everybody
I have a Type R Integra 2000 model
And wanted any advice on replacing my front tyres..They are badly coned. They are Bridgestone Potenza. 195/55/15 I belive. as are the rears.
Should I purchase the current model of Potenza tyres again or look at different ones ?
My rear tyres have ample thread for another 6-8 months.
Any comments or suggestions ?

i've got Re711, they are remarkable... i can't compare to other tyres since RE711 are the only tyres i've used on the track so far... and teh first true performance tyre i've purchased

well, when u get the new tyres, place them on th back, and the old at the front, so that you wear out the old tyres. that way you can have all 4 tyres the same sooner... (common knowledge i guess )

Lots of ITR owners like Falken Azenis too. Very stiff sidewall and good grip but also very good value. Might be a bit noisy though.

I too am looking to replace my tyres soon and looking at the options out there. It seems to find a good high performance tyre for stock wheels as the type r's wheels are relatively small, there aren't many high performance tyres in 195/55/15 or 205/50/15. At the moment looking as S02s, RE711s, maybe Azenis. I don't think S03s are available yet in Aus for 15" wheels. Anyone know what size the RE01s come in?

The Azenis come in the correct size for type-r's 195/55/15 and offer best bang for buck. I don't think s03's are available in 15's yet. Something to consider is that I have reports of slow turn in response for 205/50/15.

whats the wear 'n' tear on the Azenis...? i'm considering to purchase these as my first semi's rather than going for RE540's. as it does come down to money along the line.

+ I only have 1 set of rims atm, so these Azenis will be on 24/7. also i'm not gettin these as a novelty, i do goto phillip island too

There are two Azenis models, Silentsports and Realsports (RS). Whatever you do don't get Silentsports! They are soft sidewalled and built for comfort. The Azenis RS on the other hand has a stiff sidewall and an agressive tread pattern. They are NOT however a semi-slick or "R-compound" tyre. In fact the 2002 CAMS handbook lists them as qualifying as a standard road tyre whilst RE540S, Yokohama AO32 and Dunlop D01J for example are listed as race tyres. Many people use Azenis on the racetrack because of their cost and long wear, but they are not a race tyre. The compound is actually harder than the OEM S02 on the S2000 and most users report getting over 20,000km from a set. Everyone says they are very grippy if a bit harsh.

for road use, if you could get size you wanted, AZENIS RS seems to be the choice for your bucks, other than that, I like RE711 , so I will recommend you that too.
For track, so far I had only uses RE540S on my car, and driven a few cars with RE520 and AO32R and RE540S by far more superior than the rest. Never driven car with D01J though, so cant complain, but heard a lot of good thing about it.
