Hey, if you're in the Mosman area I can have a look. If it's the cable should be an easy fix.

Thanks a lot for the invite AusS2000, i'm over in the Southern Shire...Will have to catch up sometime....Have just had a fiddle with the cable and connection plug in the boot but no joy...

But Austblue, HA sounded sooooo genuine when they said they had never heard of a problem with the stacker!!!

At first they tried to tell me they had never heard of clutch buzzing too but eventually he admitted that they even rang Honda Japan trying to find a solution. But the new clutch wont fix and that is enough for them.

Maybe the diagnostic that you got had never heard of it?

Evidence: me, dom, doms mate, and also check out my speaker failure post again an aussie just posted that they had the same prob, got some assistance with no joy and ended up getting an extended warranty on stereo components until it is fixed.

Good to see some consistency in their dealings

Build date is June '99.....Gave HA a call today and they have never heard of this prob with one channel dropping out on CD playing or really any faulty 6 stackers.....
That is so typical of HA. They have never heard of any problem when its thier fault and they don't want to cough up.

A group of HSCC-QLD members and I have caught them lying several times.

yeah i have the same issue but its with my left speaker...i find that removing the head unit, and pulling out the plug and replacing fixes the issue for a certain amount of time...

Jaysus, that's a waste of time. If you had been lucky enough to find the right thread on here you'd have found the simple solution I've previously proffered. Back in Feb 2003, Aus was right on the money- it's a cable problem. In short, if you reach up under the dash and wiggle the HU-stacker connector cable a bit, it will give you a temporary fix. However, the problem is likely to recur at some random point in the future, maybe in 10 minutes, maybe in 10 months. But if you replace the cable the fix should be permanent (until it breaks again).

xx
