Soft Top and Passenger window not working
Hi all. It's been a long time since I was on.
I have a problem with the soft top not coming down and the passenger's window wont come down either. I have searched all the forums and they all talk about the soft top module. Any ideas with this problem?? Are the Soft Top Modules easily available? |
If you've exhausted all other options I'd pick up a softtop module from a wrecker, or an individual wrecking a car.
That said, have you checked fuses? Does the other window work? Have you checked the handbrake interrupt switch? |

There are instructions in the service manual (easy to find and download) on how to check for a fault using just a multi-meter and the drivers door window controls. I had the same problem and Honda NZ wanted $900 for a control module and $265 to fit it. I found a module on ebay in the US which cost me NZ$40 including shipping. Got it in 5 days and I had my daughter time me in fitting it. It took 3 minutes from start to finish. The module is the size of a cigarette pack and pops into a fitting under the passenger side dash. There is one holding screw.
I suggest you look for a replacement module. I found a more expensive one on ebay at 2000-2003 HONDA S2000 SOFT TOP CONTROL MODULE 86500-S2A-A01 OEM | eBay Good luck, the fitting instructions can be found on this forum site. |
Here is another cheaper one. I used the NZ Post service from the US, you get the person on ebay to ship to an address in the USA with a special code and NZ Post collect it and ship it to you in NZ.

One last point, if the driver window works and the passenger window doesn't 9 times out of 10 it is just the rocker switch on the passenger door that stops kids playing with the window!

Sorry folks, I was able to disconnect the cables from the old module (must push real hard on the 20 year old latches!). and the new module works like a charm.
Thank you |
