One thing I've found out is I am missing these brackets:

My roof was replaced in 2001 after a vandalism incident and I'm guessing these were thrown in the 'too hard' basket.

I'll make up some replacements out of aluminium.

Pretty much finished. Just need to do some adjustments and fine tuning. Hmmm, and a massive amount of interior refitting.

Oh, and take the plastic protection off the glass.

Great stuff Aus, I remember trying to organise a weekend to do this with you about 5 years ago. Glad to see you finally completed it!

Loving this new soft top. I can finally see out the back with the roof up.

And strangely pulling everything out and putting it back has tightened a lot of things. A lot less rattles and creaks.

This is the best DIY write up I have seen. It's actually for replacing an 02 onwards top with another 02 onwards top so doesn't cover the modifications to the frame that was required for my conversion but has great close ups and detailed explanations of other steps.

Hey guys, after reading some of these forums (: does help in some ways !!! I would like some help budget wise in replacing my s2k soft top. I original saved up for a hard top but then decided to respray my car instead will post up topic later (: ... I have done some research and it appears eBay is the best place to get a replacement. Roughly $600 postage glass or non glass doesn't bother me as I like the top down even in winter (: ..

Where would I get the roof installed ? I am located chadstone area and have no idea who take this task?
Last question of course would be how much does it cost for the Installation with and without soft top supplied

Sorry guys for any inconvenience

P.s where would I get leather seats recondition .?

All this work can be done by Gary Blackmans Trimming in Richmond, they are fantastic, cost effective and he has to be the nicest guy in the business.

I have referred a few guys from with no disappointment

28 Stephenson Street, Cremorne, Richmond VIC 3121. 9428-0525 ask for Gary and mention that Ali referred you with the S with TOPL3S on the plates.
