Spilled Oil in my boot ffs.

Hey guys.
I always have a bottle of oil in my boot its just habbit from owning my previous old turbo car. Anyway My oil cap came off in the boot (even after securing it properly, and yes im sure!) and ****in 5 litres of oil spilled into the boot.

basically I stripped the whole boot down to the metal took the stacker out took the carpet out took the spare out took the black toolbox thingy majingy out and cleaned the fkr real good with degreaser and left it to dry over a week.

Now... That was a nasty messy job and took half the day on its own but i still have to get around to cleaning the carpet now... sooooooooo what should i do?

*hot water and spray degreaser?
*take it to a professional?
*can a smash repairer help me or a detailing place?
-Can anyone recommend a detailer if the answer is yes?
*throw the carpet out and buy a new one from honda?

any recommendations welcome.

ta.

sounds nasty brother .

Best to just toss the carpet , i really cant see you removing all the stains / smell etc . Try some wreckers like Hondabits / Concord auto spares or even jdm yard ( they usually have a high number of honda parts etc ). You might be luck and find a rear end you can nick the carpet from . Or just goto an auto trimer to get a new carpet cut out and fitted .

Thats just my suggestion . :)

new carpet, you never get rid of the stains / smell.

Same thing happened to my mates car. 10 litres on the back seat.....

yeah true
dont waste your time degreasing it cause itll still have black spill marks and spot and not only that
the smell will still wreak!!!
just get new carpet man youll save yourself a big headache

Strange things tend to happen in cars hitting the double ton.

Add some sub woofers, amps, capacitors and recarpet it.

Or just strip everything in the boot to save a few kg.

Show it to a professional and see if they can take it out! My mum can get oil out of my shirts im sure a pro can get it out..
