Default UK exhaust mod - sharing the love

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/944...d/page__st__25

Did this, love it. Had never heard of it before as it was tucked away in the UK forum and was only brought to my attention after I had problems with my Invidia Q300 being too loud.

If you want better sound, I highly recommend you try this before you drop big coin on an after market exhaust.

Saw this a few months ago, and will do it when I find some time.

Is there anywhere with the exact schematics on what needs to be done? What mm piping did you decide to choose?

You don't really need schematics, just look at one of the pictures in the thread. RevZone only had 20mm or 35mm pipe on hand so I told them to use 20mm pipe, smaller than most, but I have a high flow cat and early VTEC and didn't want to take chances with it being too loud.

Don't know. Fitting the Q300, tuning, then removing the Q300, modifying and refitting the factory exhaust was all on the one invoice.

How loud is it? I'm guessing not much more than stock?

For my setup, at idle, almost identical. Cruising, slight increase in volume, hints of sports rortiness. Wide open throttle, rorty and noticeably louder than stock. Midrange drone, none.

If the stock exhaust purrs like a cat, which I tend to think it does, then doing this mod has turned it feral
