Incidentally (and off topic) I found a link with a (general) formula for power required to overcome drag. According to it the smart's top theoretical speed is shy of 200kph (on a flat track and no resistance from the tyres -impossible really) as it does not have enough power to overcome drag after that.

Considering I have seen 178kph at Ecreek whilst the car has pretty much run out of puff (another 2-3 kph may be possible if the straight was longer) then perhaps I should spend the money on power improvements instead! ;-)

BTW, if you happen to come across a video of the Rays wheel manufacturing plant in Japan you will see what goes into the construction of a truly well made wheel.

And it ain't chrome.

Even then at least I feel that there is actually a reason to pay that much for the wheels.

mmmm.... I think stripping the car down and weighin of the parts is in store for the not too distant future....

So far:
Wheels can save 40kgs
Seats can save 16 kgs
Driver can save 15 kgs


Take 70kgs off and add another 15kw... can't wait!!

are u referring to the buddyclub qf p1, or the sf p1?
the qf is the lighter rim, and its about $1k a rim for a 17"

thats the key ingredient its missing !!! its a good wheel , just short of being a great wheel
