Default Whip me with a rubber hose - Conrod bolts

Dear S2kophiles,

My S2K powered clubman is progressing. I wanted to put a set of ARP or similar conrod bolts in as a precaution as I dont know the history on the engine. I couldnt find any bolts which could be used so I ordered a set of factory bolts from Honda.

I was expecting mega $$. A set of 8 bolts only cost $67 incl GST. Unbelievable. ARP bolt sets cost around $200 minimum. At this price it would be worth replacing each season rather than modifying the rods to take some ARP fasteners.

Now off to my corner with my rubber hose.

Slick,

I have a PRB clubman ( the composite model). It is being built in the factory as a prototype of the new model. I'm drysumping the motor to fit it under the standard bodywork.

See www.prbaustralia.com.au

The chassis is finished as is all the running gear. I've just got to finish the dry sump system, build the exhaust headers and cut the S2K loom to size. ( have already removed all non essential wiring leaving only 1/4 of original loom).

That's a good idea ... how much does something like that cost (ie. the Clubman). Where are you getting the F20c engine from and any idea how much it'll cost?

Just don't go near the factory at lunch time. All the employees were munching on Hungry Jacks and referring to my car as a 'Donor Car'.

Dont give away our secret Aus2000,

DavidM, the clubmans start with a $18K kit up to a full works factory built car around $60K. You would be welcome to visit the factory and while the stripper is keeping you amused we can get to work on your S2K. Dont be alarmed if it sounds like a 120Y only has 4 gears, and the instrument panel looks like its drawn on with crayon when you go to drive home.

Speedracer.

Seriously, the full drivetrains and electrics are costing around $12K to import from Japan.

Seriously, the factory is quite amazing. Take a 1950's(??) design and build it with 21st century technology.
