2002 USGP. Got tickets?
I do. Woo-Hoo!!! I received my confirmation letter from Indianapolis today. They gave me the tickets that I requested. Four seats in the Penthouse Paddock, Box 37 Row E.
Last year my seats were in the Box 29. If I remember correctly Box 37 should be further down the straight towards turn one. ( Or if I

Sounds like a great idea. Received my confirmation the other day although the real confirmation was in November when the debited my card for the tickets costs.
I'll be in Stand J again
Just wish the rental agencies at the airport had the S2k as an option.

I can't believe how hard it is to get into sporting events in the USA. A friend of mine was trying to get tickets for the US Open (golf).....he said he might have to settle for tickets for the practice round.
There certainly are not too many sporting events in Oz that you can't get into if you want

Sorry to say we will be missing the 2002 event after being there the last 2. Blew too much $$$ on expensive lodging this last time, no appetite for hunting cheap far-away accomodations. Besides my wife is kinda sick of fly-away races. Will limit myself to only Long Beach this year and watch the rest on the Toob. Thank goodness for Speed Channel.
I'll be there. I'll pay too much for lodging and drink the $5 Fosters oil cans (not a bad price actually) and I'll
have a great time, just like the past two years. Oh I'm over by GP turn one (the best spot.)

Stand J is a great spot to watch the race.
Friday and Saturday are general admission tickets. So last year for qualifiying we sat in Stand J up near the top. Great views all around and there are plenty of giant tv screens down there to watch the rest of the course.
When I applied for tickets for this year I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to sit in the Penthouse Paddock on the front straight, like last year, or in stand J.
I picked Penthouse Paddock because I wanted to soak in the pre-race stuff, watch the pit action ( though we still had to use binoculars to see the teams at the beginning of pit lane ) and we were right across the straight for the podium presentation.
I don't know what they will have this year but the pre-race stuff was pretty good last year and not to mention a close up first hand look at the grid girls
.
Either way its a great weekend. Its a bit too early to start thinking about it but we should all get together for drinks or dinner this year.
BTW - I do plan on driving the s2k from NJ again this year, that's half the fun.

My ticket source took a job at one of my competitors and later found out his wife has a terminal illness. I won't be troubling him for tickets this year. Although I loved the Penthouse Paddock (I was seated behind NJTom) I'd go for turn one or even turn 10 (photo-op) this year. Any advice on securing tickets?
