Voted for Lewis, BUT Salty Nico HAS to win this one to save his season. We all know how emotional he can get. He gives up to easily. Would like to see Mclaren get both cars in the points. I have Kimi in my sleeper podium

Everyone cries about the old circuit. The old circuit sucked, straight, chicane rinse repeat, bleh. The new track is a short lap for an F1 car, it's quite busy. The McHonda is now .5 seconds behind Ferrari and Red Bull, and a further 1.3 seconds behind Mercedes, they're planning an upgrade for Spa, or Monza, which should be good for an extra .5 seconds per lap. The combustion technology that Honda is going to introduce is pretty cool stuff.

The idea is to use a heated metal catalyst electrode to heat and precondition fuel to not only make the fuel easier to combust, but also further heat the fuel and increase it's pressure until the fuel transitions to a supercritical state where it takes both properties of a liquid and a gas. This allows much faster mixing, and much faster combustion. Combined with forced induction and tuning they're able to extract ~760-780 bhp from the engine by itself, +160 from the hybrid system. Mercedes is understood to be making over 800hp from the engine itself. It's even crazier when you consider that they're essentially using 780cc injectors.

Button gets a piece of brake disc carbon in his eye - Cleared to qualify after visiting a local hospital to have the fragment removed
http://www.racer.com/f1/item/132569-...on-eye-problem

McLaren's Jenson Button says a carbon brake fragment caused the "very painful" left-eye injury that resulted in him missing part of German Grand Prix practice and visiting a local hospital. Button has since been given the all-clear to continue for the remainder of the last grand prix before Formula 1's summer break.
The Briton had only completed 16 laps in the second practice session at Hockenheim when he was sidelined by an irritation in his left eye that prompted a visit to the medical center and then a hospital in Mannheim.
"Everything was OK, I just had something in my eye – some carbon or something I had to have taken out," said Button upon his return. "I've had it before, a bit of carbon from the brakes. It wasn't just dust in my eye, it was a bit more severe than that.
"They didn't have any systems to check it here [at Hockenheim], so I had proper checks at a hospital, and they found something, washed it out, and all good. It was very painful, and that's why I stopped early.
"To be fair, the team said they needed six laps of data on the super-softs, and we were OK because I'd actually done six laps before I stopped."
Button ended the session eighth quickest, 1.473 seconds adrift of pacesetter in Mercedes' Nico Rosberg, and 0.138s ahead of teammate Fernando Alonso who was 10th. He was generally satisfied, despite missing out on track time.
"The session was alright, apart from my eye," added Button. "The feeling with the car was not too bad. I didn't get a good lap on low fuel because we had traffic in the last sector, but still, we were eighth.
"There's always time to find and things to improve, but our aim now has to be the fourth-best team tomorrow."
