I missed most of qualifying last night. What happened to Max? Did he Crash or have mechanical problems? Or just a bad day at the office?

I think it was mostly bad luck

Also in the drop zone was Verstappen after he complained of a power unit problem and was forced to pit before setting a representative time. Having been held up at the FIA weighbridge on his way into the pits, Verstappen was informed of potential fixes but was only P17 after first attempt and had to push for a second consecutive lap.

Verstappen's extra attempt was then ruined when Giovinazzi crashed at the final corner, bringing the session to a premature end. Just a few seconds before the checkered flag, the Italian - who was sitting 15th and just through to Q2 at the time - made the same mistake as Grosjean and lost the rear, but kept his foot planted on the throttle for a fraction longer and headed towards the barrier as the car gripped up again. The front of the car hit the tire barrier at speed, with the right front corner being ripped off before the rear was then heavily damaged.

Stayed up and watched the race. It was good fun I thought with all the battles for position other than the first position. I'll hold off talking results as some of you are probably yet to watch the race.

Good analysis of the race. I tend to agree with what he says that this seems to be a return to proper racing

Decent race, it's nice to see podiums with genuine celebrations again, and happy faces.

But chasing looks very difficult. Does clean air out perform the draft?
