I think that was a great qualifying session and Lewis was peerless yet again carrying his dominance through all the practice sessions into qualifying. I thought they said no one has done that all season - finishing on top in all practice sessions.

WTF was Lance Stroll doing dawdling along on the racing line? I'm sure Gorsjean let out quite a few French obscenities that probably made his engineers blush. I think they stewards need to give him a stern warning.

Zak Brown said that he expected Fernando to do better which he did, but I was hoping for Stoffel to get into Q3 as well. At least I hope he has a great race tomorrow. Fantastic debut by Hartley into qualifying I thought. Also great qualifying effort by Sainz for his very first time with Renault.

Voted Hamilton.

Alonso will have his best finish of the year.

^ agree with you. COTA really kicked up the show several notches and the race was awesome too. Great battles through the field right from the leaders through several positions below.

I thought Max was the driver of the race and felt he was robbed, but the rules are the rules. Following Max, I think it was Carlos Sainz. But you've gotta had it to Lewis for winning four on the trot, and dominating in all the sessions despite the great start made by Seb.

COTA, the track is a modern classic IMO. Every race that we've had there has been good for spectating.

It was awful. That was one of the dumb rulings that F1 manages to come up with at least once each season. I don't want to see NASCAR but do let the boys race, please.

As an Englishman, I have to say I loved the singing of the national anthem. It was utterly stupendous
