OMG! what a race this was and how COTA delivered.

On a hunch that Kimi would make a good start and be able to force the advantage at Turn 1 I picked him for winner. I am often wrong but its nice to be right sometimes and I am so happy that this was a great race for all the F1 faithful.

Throughout I was on tenterhooks. When Lewis pitted early and Kimi stayed out it seemed like yet another strategy failure on the part of Ferrari. But it was genius to stay out and have Lewis work his tires hard so he'd have to make another pit stop. After Kimi made his stop and I saw the blisters on Lewis' tires, I knew Kimi had a chance. And how he delivered. They say a light burns brightest before it goes out and this was classic Kimi all the way.

Vettel seems to have consigned himself to losing the championship making yet another mistake, spinning out and then doing a burnout to turn his car around. He finished well enough but I think Lewis is driving like the five time champion we all expect him to be and it will be a matter of time I think as he is crowned champion (as early as next week perhaps).

Towards the end, I enjoyed the battle between Max and Lewis and props to Max for driving a very mature race and keeping it clean. Also loved the pass Seb made on Bottas for 4th place. Hopefully the Red Bulls are in with a chance for victory next weekend in Mexico.

Forza Ferrari!! and I'm not even a Ferrari fan, but Kimi, the team and Seb's fight through the field made me root for them for this race.

I agree with all that. Lewis will win the championship in Mexico. It's all good that it's drawn out another week.

Cannot believe Daniel's luck. Felt really bad for him

Great race overall, happy to see Kimi win, and Lewis battling with Max was really good too. Looking forward to Mexico now.

We did not go. We haven't gone since the inaugural year. Our AirBnB hosts were pissed we practically stole the place from them ($99/night), so we weren't expecting to return any time soon.

We now have a place to stay near Austin, so we may go back in a few years. Mrs._Trunkie would love to go to Montreal, Monza, Silverstone, and perhaps a few others too.

I want to go to Montreal, too. I spent a lot of time there when I was with ARCO Marketing Research (and I had a GF wh hailed from Montreal) back in the day. Definitely the most cosmopolitan city in North America.
