2018 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama - April 22nd at Barber Motorsports Park
This one is a personal favorite of mine because I love the track. I think its one of the most scenic tracks in the country and it has a world class motorcycle museum on the premises that coincidentally also features the largest collection of Lotus F1 race cars.

I love that track. Everything's so green, elevation changes. Everyone sits on the grass. Rossi's on a roll. We'll see.

It seemed like the Penske team made good strategy calls in the final qualifying session to get pole. Congrats to them and Josef Newgarden. I thought Rossi had it in the bag with his lap, but then I guess as the track rubbered in, the guys that waited to put on their soft tires had the advantage. They are calling for a wet race tomorrow. Hopefully its a safe and entertaining one.

Too bad the rain was bucketing down in Alabama. On the plus side, the race will be run tomorrow at Noon (EST) so full points can be awarded. Too bad for the fans though as they stuck it out there in the bad weather long enough. Josef Newgarden is in the lead with a whole bunch of angry Hondas behind him.

Perfect gamble by Josef Newgarden to take the win. Bourdais was brave to stick it out on the reds. |
