Met Lady Moss and him at the Lime Rock Park Historic festival in 2012. I was crewing for fellow member blueosprey90 who races an MG A. He was the guest of honor. They came back in 2015 as joint guests of honor along with Jochen Mass. Mercedes bought the cars he raced for them to the festival and the cars were driven on track by Jochen Mass with Sam Posey and Sir Moss riding along in the older cars.

For him, like Gilles Villeneuve two decades later, the most important race was the one he was in, and not being able to call himself world champion was of little matter.

"To me," he once said, "the idea of driving for points goes against the whole point of racing. That's why I so admired Villeneuve's approach. If you're not trying to win at all costs, what on Earth are you doing there?
