This is it for me. I've been counting the days since the Rose Bowl ended. I've been to all 42 Long Beach GPs, all three days of all but three (rain). My wife has missed two. We have, in my opinion, the best seats in the house: top row Grandstand 29, on the aisle, across from the pits, very close to the start-finish line, where they're hitting Shoreline Drive straight at great speed (see the circuit map). We park almost directly behind the track in Marina Parking and set up a 10' x 10' USC easy up and tailgate with our friends between events and during events we don't care about, such as drifting. We have a core of friends that we see only three days every April. We take my 2014 red Vette vert on Friday and Saturday. The easy up in its case fits in my trunk with one inch to spare. We take my wife's Acura RDX on Sunday because we need more space to accommodate race day only visitors. We get there every day at 7 AM and start every day with a breakfast consisting of a King Taco carne asada all meat burrito with cilantro, onions, and salsa verde and an ice cold Becks. I can't wait!

Sounds like a great time. I'll be there with formula SAE on Sunday representing CSUN.

That's Formula Society of Automotive Engineers, right? What do you do on or at the track on Sunday?

Yes indeed! I'll be in the expo center with a couple of my team mates displaying our schools formula car. Stop by and say hello!

Didn't make it inside the track yesterday. Congrats to James Hinchcliffe! Good win!

Crazy, as usual. Here are the results for Race #1:

And a video:

We were just past the Port of Long Beach Bridge. We missed the second truck race. It was after the big race and we went home.

Just watched a recording of the race. Good action on track. Rossi was going well until he had to retire. Looking forward to Barber, one of my favorite North American tracks.
