JaviNES' GPW AP2 Build Log
Good Day all, My name is Javi and I currently reside in Miami, Fl. I recently picked up a GPW AP2 in South Carolina with a bit higher mileage, but clean title and an all around solid car. Clean title, with 9/10 VIN tags, and best of all completely stock.
I have gone through a few platforms, the two most recent being a GR STi with a closed deck build that was set to ~500whp on 93 for daily duties, and a JDM FD Rx7 which was my dream car growing up.

I picked up the S2k in late July and have been dailying it since then. The day after I got back from SC with it, I did the normal maintenance items, changed all the fluids, filter, sparkplugs, etc, and removed the seats and cleaned the best I could at the time. The interior was just appalling. Here are some before/after. The tan obviously did not come out perfect, and the carpet is definitely showing its age and wear with multiple dead spots.

The next portion to address was the soft top. It did have the factory soft top when I purchased the vehicle, and it had a few areas that were patched. Most commonly the corners by the reclining assembly, and another two spots. As I was unsure of what I wanted to do about the top, and still dont, I found a local selling an authentic Mugen top with OEM hardware on this forum, the kicker, it was already painted white. I went ahead and purchased it, though the paint is definitely not 100%, it will do for now until I respray the car.

I could no longer deal with the shape that the interior carpet was, and decided to order a complete carpet set from Honda. Seeing as the tan is no longer available, I went with black. Yesterday I went ahead and ripped everything out and replaced the carpet.
The amount of dust, gravel, and whatever else sticky/gunk substance that was under everything was disturbing. I do not understand how it gets to this extreme. The underside of the dash even had dust caked on. I vacuumed, blew compressed air, cleaned, and repeated. It took me and a friend about 2 hours to remove and reinstall everything, but about 4/5 just cleaning. Im happy to say that it is now as close to perfect as I could do. Below are some before and afters.

Hey Ricky, thanks! still a long way to go for the extremity of your build.
Thank you Orijinal, it cleaned up well after everything I ended up doing. Had a lot planned for it, but my OCD and other goals I had overcame it.
