Boring Berlina Black AP2 "Build"
I thought I'd document my 2005 Berlina Black S2000. The first time I drove an S2000 (almost 10 years ago), I knew I was going to have one someday. My previous cars were an EM1 Civic with all the regular CTR/OEM accessory goodies, then I parted it out and moved on the a G35 Coupe I "stanced" out. Quickly realized how stupid that was. Barely drove it because it was so low. Got rid of that for a more daily driver Infiniti FX which I still have today. I was pretty content with the FX but I missed driving something that was manual and sporty. One day a local bone stock, never-modified 2005 S2000 came up for sale. It came with all the OEM factory options and accessories. Best part about it was that it was owned by an older lady as a summer-only car. After a quick test drive I knew I had to have it. Made the offer, shook hands and that was the beginning of owning the one car I've wanted for a really long time.
The Civic:
The G35:
.. Made it a little better by raising it, added functional tire sizes an fitment. Was much better, but still wasn't that fun to drive.
The daily which I still have:
And the beginning of the S2000: Bone stock except Advan AD08 + EBC Yellow + EBC Slotted/Drilled Rotors
Added an OEM AP2 front lip, AP1 "ducktail" spoiler, Lowpro Aero Front Splitter + Sides
Installed a pair of BRIDE GIAS 2 Japan Editions and a J's Racing Titanium shift knob. Also the J's Racing 6-Speed shift plates because the police here are dicks and will ticket you if your knob doesn't have numbers on it.
And that was the end of the season! Car went into storage and I started ordering some parts for the spring time:
OEM AP2 V4 Wheels in SBC Chrome (17x9 +45 Square) / HKS Hipermax IV GT
Bridgestone RE11A in 245/40/17 / HKS 75mm Single Exhaust
JDP Carbon Single rear diffuser because the open exhaust hole on the bumper bugs me.
Springtime reveal (added OEM side strakes):
Added a full Hertz sound system to the car because everyone knows how awesome the stock sound system is. Hertz Hi-Energy Components, 10" Hertz HX250D Subwoofer, Hertz HDP5 5-Channel Amp, Stealth trunk enclosure.
Photoshoot my buddy did:
A few photos I took throughout the summer/fall:
Went with for a cruise with benjam5 on here. That Italian stud and his sick Laguna Blue S2K.
Got bored of the SBC RPF1's. Sold those and picked up some TE37's because forged wheels is life! Wrapped them in some Bridgestone RE71R's.
RE11A vs RE71R
Needed some JDM bling behind the wheels so I picked up these towards the end of the year:
Also picked up a bunch of maintenance/upgrade parts (clutch master/slave / stoptech braided lines / motul brake fluid / test pipe / K&N FIPK / valve cover gasket set):
Raised the car up to a more functional ride height. Had all the parts installed right after the vehicle came out of storage:
Got tired of cleaning between the chrome "H" emblem the AP2 has. Swapped out to the solid emblems:
Went for an alignment.. oh the strugglez:
Mid-summer photoshoot from by buddy:
Put the car on the Dynojet. I'm OK with the numbers for what little I have done. Nice to know the engine seems pretty healthy number-wise:
Final photos I took before I put the vehicle away for this winter:
Thanks for looking!
Pretty much done with the exterior of the car. Next focus is on more power!

I really like those solid emblems. Where'd you pick them up?

Thanks everyone. A lot of local guys here have wicked widebody S2Ks, quite a few have made their way on to popular internet sites/media. I like keeping my car as simple as possible and the look as classic as I can.
Wheels are pretty soft fitment but perfect in my books. 17x7.5 / 8.5 +40.
Emblems are found on the JDM S2000 and very early year Ap1s.
