Default Ever's slow budget build

Hey guy my name is Ever and just wanted to share with u guys my progress with my S.....wells little history of the car it's a 01 spa yellow ap1 and i bought it with 100k currently at 107k well at the beginning I wasn't even looking for one as I had a 350z at the moment but I always loved this car and wanted one at one point in my life so something told me to just search the classifieds for one and I found this guy selling his for $10k with 100k on it so I was a little skeptical since I never owned one of these cars before so I was fairly new if something could go wrong so I contacted him and he told me he was in need of money bad cause bills and that everybody was just offering trades and nobody had cash in hand so since I wasn't even looking for a car I told him I could come up with $8500 cash and he told he he would take it so I tested the car took it to a mechanic and everything checked out so I bought it and it was such a happy moment I couldn't stop smiling I never really saw myself buying a yellow car but the s2000 just pulled off the color just right....I ended up selling the Z to get money back for the money I used to buy the S and use some of the left over money for mods....I been trying to work on it as much as possible but with two other cars that I'm trying to build as well (my G35 sedan and the wifes Xb)ill take some to get it to how I want it...well no more chatter and here's my slow build enjoy....
How I first got it
[attachment=31078:ImageUploadedByTapatalk1354551370 .538822.jpg]

First thing I did was removing the chrome H badges and replace them with the type r red ones I just loved those badges!!!

Then I decided to order some wheels so I went with a set of rota grids in gunmetal 17x7.5 front and 17x9 rear and add an oem style front lip fitment was kind of crappy so it took a lot of time to get it to fit right...I also attended my first s2ki meet lots of nice people are those guys
[attachment=31086:ImageUploadedByTapatalk1354551704 .642882.jpg]

Next mod was to drop the car I traded some old wheels to a buddy for his espelir springs

Then I decided to get a shift knob I went for the password brass knuckle shift knob but decided it was to tall so I went with a titanium burnt finish blox 490 shift knob and I love it ...also the finish in the center console stated to faded so I decided to strip it and left the shinny finish which imo looks better and also installed a genuine leather shift boot with red stiching

Then I got a password cf intake cover as well as a cf rep js snorkel

Then I decided to order a mugen rep cf hood as my stock hood kept rubbing the snorkel and didn't want it to cut my hood

Test fitting

The only thing I forgot was to buy hood damper so I had to wait to see if some popped in s2ki

Then I got a great deal on some Nt03+m so I bought them and sold the Rotas they are 18x9.5 +40 square setup I wasn't to happy with the size tire they came with but i figured ill buy something more meaty down the road they came with 225/40/18

Next while I was browsing s2ki I found a guy selling a jdp spoiler so u jumped on it

I attended a s2ki meet that week as well sorry for my crappy pics

Next purchased was a set of t1r cf side diffusers and jdm side markers

Got my hood dampers finally went with Nrg cf ones

I decided the stock exhaust wasn't cutting it so I went with a single hks exhaust with a burnt tip
Bye bye old exhaust

Hello

I didn't like the look of the hole the single exhaust left in the other side so I got a cf exhaust cap

Then attended a car meet with a fellow s2ki member and decided to shoot some pics at the lake

I decided springs were not cutting it so I jumped on a deal I got on some megan track coilovers

Which leads to how the car seat now I haven't installed the coilovers as I'm waiting to get my fenders rolled

Thanks for checking out my build and will keep updates with any more changes to the car

Look's nice. Do you daily the car ? I'm actually moving out to milwaukee in a couple months and my buddy from there advised me not to bring my s2 out and to sell it and buy something fwd or 4wd because of the snowy winters you guys have. What do you think?

There are quite a few people here that drive their s2000s through winter. With winter tires, they work just fine. The issue is the salt. Id keep the S and buy a winter beater/truck/jeep. IMO, not worth it to drive a 4x4 year round for the times that you need it in winter. Most major metropolitan areas know how to deal with snow, and they salt and plow accordingly. There might only be 2-3 days where you need 4wd to actually get anywhere. Is it worth it to not have fun the other 363 days out of the year?

I dont drive it in the snow for 3 main reasons one is the salt they throw shit tons here...two the height I'm pretty sure ull get stuck in the first snowstorm we get and third is being a rwd drive lightwr car even with snow tires it might be a pain to drive ur best bet is just get a cheap beater for those nasty snow months I'm still planning to drive mine in the winter but only when there's no snow or salt In the ground ...this past winter wasn't bad at all compared to years before
