I won't post any pictures of my car with the hood installed until the sanctions are lifted.

12.10.2014 - Powerhouse Amuse Euro Dual 70-22w Unboxing

It's been no secret that I have wanted one of these exhaust for a very long time. I have been after one for my AP1. Amuse offers a tip option that looks very similar to the OEM AP1 tips and I have always wanted that set up for my AP1 but I could never find out if I could order it in the 70mm configuration. I contacted Bulletproof Automotive and was told that it is just the '09 rolled tip' option which it clearly isn't, and I've spoken with Matt at ICB who never seems to be interested in taking my money and doesn't ever follow up... so I pretty much gave up on ever getting my hands on one of these exhausts. That is until I came across this exhaust that Urge had for sale. It wasn't the tip configuration I was after, but after requesting pictures of the tips from Patrick I thought that this setup might look pretty rad on my CR, so I picked it up. I figured this would be a great opportunity to get to actually hear and see this exhaust in person. I have only see one other of these exhaust in the 70mm configuration and that one is off on the East Coast. This one was brand new in the original box and still hadn't been unwrapped. It was already in the country and I could have it within a week, and it had been ordered with the Type B tails with the additional Gold Ring option. Perfect for the CR!

I sent Payment for it on Friday and I had a tracking number on Monday morning. It arrived on Wednesday around lunch time so I canceled a few meetings and headed off to pick it up. Madhav came over and offered to take some pictures for me while I unboxed it.

I noticed on the side of the box it's labeled as an AP1 exhaust...

While on the top it's labeled as an AP2. I'm pretty sure it doesn't really matter either way. The only issue is the 06+ USDM fitment which I will get into later.

Everything was packaged pretty well. It didn't look like anything could move around in the box at all which was good. Lots of bags filled with a foam that was conformed to the shape of the exhaust.

That was it for the day. I had just gotten new tires mounted on the wheels the night before so I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the wheels and tires up and getting them ready for the CR. You'll notice the CR as AP2 V2's in the picture as temporary wheels.

im very glad the builds lately are becoming a little more "quality." Almost like mid 2000s! Always worth it to wait and get what you want rather than settle on a part. Would expect nothing less of Feezy.

Christ man you have fantastic taste.

Could you please snap a pic of your CR with the V1 wheels (if I'm seeing that correctly)? I've been thinking of putting a pair on my RYP CR, but powder coated to match the factory wheels. I really like how the factory wheels feel when pushed hard, however I would like to do something to differentiate my CR a bit while keeping an OEM appearance.

Cheers

They're V2s but I wouldn't mind a pic either

12.21.2014 - Powerhouse Amuse Euro Dual 70-22w install

A couple weekends later Manga_Spawn was in town and we got together for lunch. I wanted to show him the CR and give him another ride in the ITB'd AP1. (It was completed shortly after he moved away. ) We were having lunch and Adrs2k and I were talking about possibly getting together to take photos of the CR as it sits. Other then the Ohlins and the newly clear bra'd front end, the CR is relatively stock and I wanted some pictures of it before I started modifying it. I have a soft spot in my heart for cars with an OEM'ish feel and I knew when I picked this exhaust up I would be stepping away from that. Don't get me wrong, the tips look spectacular up against the GPW bumper, but it's just not clean and subtle anymore. It's much more of a 'tuner' look. Hell, I'm even going to run the Powerhouse Amuse sticker. I've wanted an Amuse exhaust since I had my first S2000 back in 2001. I'm so excited to finally have one on one of my cars.

We packed everything up and headed to Madhav's shop. He was generous enough to let me invade his space yet again. After unwrapping the exhaust we went off and took some pictures of the CR as it sat. I'll have to get those pictures and post them up here in a little while.

Adrs2k was on hand to take all sorts of pictures of the exhaust as we unwrapped it. It's very hard to explain how spectacular this piece is in person. The welds are flawless, the lightness is nothing short of impressive, and the tips almost glow when they get hit with direct light. It's just the strangest thing to hold the exhaust in your hands and to not feel the weight that you know should be there. Anyway, here are the pictures!

This was a cool picture that Adrs2k managed to capture. It's a little bit hard to see but a spider had decided to make a home in the exhaust tip on the passenger side.

Those are the majority of the pictures I have from the install day. We ran into the typical fitment problems on an 06+ car and I'm currently trying to figure out a solution. We can hang the exhaust a bit lower so it the tunnel doesn't interfere with the exhaust at all, but that means the exhaust piping is going to touch the lower tie bar. I picked up a solid bar for my AP1 a while back and after some discussion I'm going to have Madhav make me a similar one with a recess for the exhaust piping. A solid bar should provide some more protection for the exhaust as well, but my CR isn't very low at all so I'm not that worried about it. I'll have some more exhaust updates once I figure out what I am going to do. We just ran out of time that afternoon and I was heading out of town the next day.

I'd also like to say thank you again to Madhav for letting me use the shop, and thank you to Adrs2k for driving all the way out to take all these rad pictures for me. I can't tell you guys how much I appreciate everything you guys do.

Wow that spider has excellent taste.

Great pics! It's awesome that we will be able to finally have some good quality videos of both the dual and single version of these exhausts and the sounds they make.

I agree. I'm very excited to be able to provide that information to the community. We should put together a thread on the two exhausts in case anyone is ever looking to purchase one.
