Killing time waiting for my brakes to be installed so I made a grill for my J's type S bumper.
Also picked up a J's Tsuchinoko for the Type-S bumper. Was going to use the Mugen but came across this used J's so bit the bullet on it.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably get a Honda Acty or some other Kei truck to mess with. That's probably the last rusted up, seized, antique I'll ever work on. I think I used a drill and a grinder more than a ratchet to strip that thing lol. It's so nice working on something modern where the nuts and bolts actually come out. Don't know what kind of power the Lambro has but that was the other problem with the Ape. It only did about 65 kph, downhill, with the wind at my back and took about a mile to get there which made it pretty impractical to even run errands with it. Too slow, but then again the drum brakes were so bad you didn't want it to go faster either. It was a neck breaker though but I'm not sure if they were laughing with me or at me

I've had the VSA light in since I put the steering wheel on. I thought it was just low brake fluid so I ignored it because I was getting the AP BBK installed anyway. After the brakes were installed it stayed on and my brake light actually lit up too. Turns out if your steering wheel isn't centered on a VSA car, it lights up. I was just too lazy to pull the wheel off again. The brake light was the white little float thingy in the reservoir that didn't want to float. Fixed both of those last night so no more dash lights. Washed it last night finally too.

This J's intake seems like a decent design but fit and finish is very non-Japanese. The fastening system between the snorkel and air box was nut and bolts but the bolts aren't fixed so I'm not even sure how you were supposed to hold it to tighten it. I thought about epoxy the bolts in place but then I remembered I had some 1/4 turn fasteners in my race toolbox. So drilled out the holes and installed them. This is what they should have done in the first place.
