From your description, it sounds as if the Tanabe and Mugen share similar audible characteristics. That is exactly what I'm looking for, but with zero drone. My tanabe has zero drone. I'm willing to trade some minor drone for the extra weight savings and titanium goodness that comes with owning a Mugen exhaust, I suppose.

awesome story man. I can definitely relate as I'm about to make the switch myself from a E92 M3 to a S2K and I think you hit the nail right on the head, the S2K can be just as fast with a competent driver.

Picked up a new camera finally after selling my 5D mkIII and 10 years worth of canon gear. Now shooting with a Sony RX1R II which has been really enjoyable.
Now that track time is so cheap and accessible for me, my goal is to get some laps in 2x a week and really work on becoming a faster and more capable driver. The guys at Driveway Austin told me I would have won last weeks time attack event with my best laps from yesterday. They said the fastest car there was a corvette that ran a 35.7 and I ran a 35.6. This is on a very short course (video of an earlier run there above) where it's all about a cars handling and driver skill. The S2K is such a capable car. There are 2-3 corners where I know I can improve a bit which could get me into the low 35's and potentially even high 34's while I'm on RS3's. I just love driving this car on track so much.

Thanks. The car has been running great. And it was nice to hear from the instructor (who drives an Evora GT3 professionally in the Pirelli World Challenge) that my car is very balanced and fun to drive. He said he loves S2K's.

Attended my first time attack event in Austin. This was at the same short track I've been running at in the videos above. Was able to prove how well these cars handle by winning with the fastest lap of all cars that day. I love this car so much.

Also picked up a new stablemate for the S2K. This is to replace my i3 that's about to be given up (lease ending).
Wrote a bit about it here: Bought a new Daily driver to replace my i3.
