Default My 06 AP2 Build - Bay Area

Hi guys. I just picked up a S2000 last Wednesday, on 3/8/17, and have really just been enjoying the car. It's my first convertible and the weather has been great so it's just a blast driving around with the top down.

This is actually my second sports car in my garage and it's duty is to be more of a track weapon than anything else.

The plan is to build her up as I get more and more used to driving her on the track.

Here she is on the day i picked her up:

Thursday 3/9:

Invidia Exhaust installed.

Exhaust is fking loud. lol. I'm basically always running it with the silencer as it makes it more bearable.

Friday - Saturday 3/11:

I was able to pick up a J's racing type 2 wing from another member on here. (Thanks Tom). It was missing some hardware but luckily Evasive had it in stock. Had CY next day it to me so that I could install the wing ASAP because I'm impatient like that I guess.

Wing is on with 255mm uprights.

Be mindful of the sound restrictions at MRLS and Sonoma Raceway too. I think you should be fine at Thunderhil, but it does put a damper on the fun when you get flagged for exceeding approved dB levels.

3/13/17:

Work todayyyy.... yay....

Also had some stuff done on my other ride so I was pretty busy all day. Here's a picture of my dog smiling at me while I'm filling up the ride with some E85. lol.

Despite this, i managed to purchase a Recaro Pole position seat locally. Guy was super nice and delivered the seat to my work place when he was on his way to a camping trip with his girlfriend. haha. Came with the Recaro side mounts.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be utilizing the side mounts as I heard they seat you rather low and the stock height is perfect for me right now.

Yeah i got flagged 3 times and subsequently kicked out of Sonoma last time I was there with my other car. I'm thinking about switching the test pipe to one with high flowing cats to decrease the volume a bit. Any recommendations?

Recommendations? Dump the Invidia exhaust!

The Speed Academy guys ran the Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust on their race car when they had to drive it on the street. And some tracks had noise restrictions. Quieter is always a little less powerful of course.

My Gernby tuned '06 peaks at 221bhp with a Berk 63.5mm high flow cat and that exhaust. Stirctly a street car. 94dBA noise level. The Q300 was over 105dBA.

Yup, but most people would recommend matching the test pipe inner diameter to the exhaust inner diameter. The Tanabe is 63mm and I'm fairly certain the Invidia is 70mm.

What exhaust would you guys recommend that is 70mm (and dual)? WOuld like that passes the db test and has less drone.

Also what about the Tanabe Medallion concept exhaust? What's the dfiference between the concept and the touring?

Looks like it should be a good build considering you've only had it for a few days!
