The valves are essentially like blow off valves, but with a steep price.

Yeah the price on those valves is a bit silly.

This updated tune is bananas. It really is just VTEC on demand basically. Having access to it at 4000 is amazing. When I am in the changeover window the transition is nice and smooth too.

This is one of the reasons why I have been considering the Apexi Neo. To be able to drop the Vtec up and down whenever you need it.

Why not go with a full standalone? The difference Andrew is feeling is not purely due to his VTEC threshold being lower, but his tune is optimized for his bolt-ons. Unless you're in a points-based class like NASA TT or whatever, or you're autocrossing, there's no reason why you shouldn't get an aftermarket ECU.

I think the SOS AEM infinity setup looks to be the best option now for pre-06 models. https://www.scienceofspeed.com/index...0-2000-05.html

Yeah agreed. The extra money spent on a full standalone is well worth the cost for all the optimization and much simpler ease of use and tuning. Being able to optimize for the current parts is the real advantage, keeping everything within a safe limit and get large midrange increases at the same time. Just changing the VTEC changeover window won't get you that.

I was referring to just the vtec. I don't need a full standalone, and probably never will unless i continue to get bolt ons. This is not the case right now.

If you have an intake or an exhaust and test pipe, or even just a test pipe then there are significant tuning advantages in full stand-alone or FlashPro when that is an option. Just changing the VTEC change over will cause other small issues making things slightly less reliable over the long run. Not to mention any good stand-alone also able to data log to keep tabs on the engine if it sees mostly track time.

ASM front lower + rear lower brace

Picked up these used and now discontinued ASM subframe braces from GoTuning. My rear lower subframe brace has been in need of replacement for awhile since it is a bit scraped up. I like these ones since they look like they could be on the car from the factory.
