S2000 JDM VGS Track Build
I have owned an s2000 now for just over a year. I got myself a daily and have been modifrying it with the intention of making it a Track day toy now for the best part of 6 months. It has been a slow build, trying not to get in any debt/loans while trying to save for a house.
My previous cars/builds have been Civic Type R - EP3, EK9 B18C, Mitsubishi Evo V GSR and now my s2000.
You can follow me on IG @ jake_s2k i usually post some of my progress on there also.
So, here we go.

OK, so on with the build. After using it as my daily for work covering 140 miles A DAY i noticed things starting to wear and the car handling progressively getting worse. The underside hadn't been sealed. The bushes were worn. Suspension was knocking. Rear Diff mounts cracked, and so on!
I stripped the underside bare, bought new control arms, subframes and a whole load of WaxOyl... the fun began.

HAD TO USE THE PILLAR DRILL ON THE BUMPSTEER SPACER HOLES SO THE SPOON SOLID BUSHES WOULD FIT INSIDE. AS YOU CAN SEE THEY DIDN'T FIT. IM GUESSING THE VGS IS DIFFERENT TO THE NORMAL RACK.

MANAGED TO GET SOME KSPORTS 6 POTS FOR A GOOD PRICE. YELLOW STUFF PADS, GOODRIDGE BRAIDED HOSES, GROOVED REAR DISCS AND SOME MILLERS 300+ BRAKE FLUID. ALSO HAD A BRAKE COOLING KIT & AIR PUMP DELETE KIT TO FIT. HAD TO MODIFY A FEW PARTS BUT WENT TOGETHER NICELY. I WILL BE GOING TO MAKE ONE FOR THE REAR BRAKES ALSO.

IVE GONE WITH THE 3" BERK RACING EXHAUST. I'M EVENTUALLY GOING TO HAVE TO MODIFY IT TO BE QUIETER OR GO FOR A CUSTOM SYSTEM AS ITS FAR TOO LOUD FOR TRACKS OVER HERE IN THE UK. NICE BIT OF KIT THOUGH!

Removed and tidied up loads of wiring behind the dash while it was away getting flocked. Completely stripped the interior. I have been collecting a few bits for the interior at the moment also...

Track cars need aero right? Made myself a little front splitter and airdam jobbie (yet to test it out) and cut my rear bumper for hopefully a diffuser in the near future.

Decided as i was bleeding the brakes to do the clutch fluid as well. I should of checked this ages ago, it was filthy and so much sludge in the reservoir.
Decided to get a HEL Braided clutch line while i was at it.

Nice built !!
A little info ... The spoon solid steering rack bushing have a "niple" that is supposed to fit in the bolt hole in the frame. Just like the solid subframe bushings. I had the same problem with my steering rack spacers. My guess is the spoon steering rack spacer must have that little groove to fit with their solid steering rack bushings.
Keep up the good work. It's always nice to read a good built thread
