Default The Silverstone Metallic GT-POOR Build Thread

The year is 2024-April and I was offered to purchase a S2000 from a good friend who I said (kind of jokingly) that I would buy his S2000 when I sold my 2nd one in ~2017. They say 3rd time is the charm and since my favorite car is a Porsche GT3, I've decided to name this the GT-Poor because we all know the costs to build a Honda these days will make you poor haha.. But in all seriousness, I do plan on incorporating some parts from a GT3 so enjoy!

Here are photos from the previous owner and you can already see hints of a Porsche Carrera GT front and Porsche 997 GT3 rear thanks to ASM...

First night of ownership in the garage. It's a 2004 AP2 with 98k miles and came with some goodies. It's a little rough around the edges as the previous owner left it collecting dust because of life. Some may recognize...

If you know, you know...

After driving it around the city for a month and waiting on parts, I took it to Rogue Motorsports. Everyone has their preference on fluids but I'm faithful to Motul + OEM fluids...

100k service
Detail engine bay
Motul/OEM fluid flush
OEM valve cover (old one was chipped)
OEM valve cover gasket/seals/bolts
OEM ignition coil cover (old one was faded)
OEM serpentine belt
OEM Vtec solenoid (old one was rusted even though it was still working properly)
OEM oil filter
NGK iridium spark plugs
Valve adjustment
Toda Racing TCT
Spoon Sports oil cap
Spoon Sports magnetic oil & transmission drain bolt
J's Racing black reservoir tank covers
Koyo Radiator aluminum (old one wasn't leaking but figured to do it now)
Spoon Sports radiator cap type F
Spoon Sports black radiator stays
Samco upper and lower black coolant hose (I wish I got Spoon Sports hoses to match the small hints of blue)
OEM coolant overflow tank/hose/cap (old one wasn't leaking but knowing they get brittle over time, why not replace it now)
OEM hose clamps
OEM thermostat
K&N intake filter
Spoon Sports intake duct
Cusco front tower bar

Now that maintenance is completed, I was on the search for a new wheel/tire setup which wasn't hard for me to decide...
Rays Volk Racing TE37SL 17x9.5 +40 Evasive Motorsport spec in British Racing Green
Rays OG black decals (I wasn't feeling the SL red decals)
Rays Hi speed black air valves (again wasn't feeling the red air valves)
Rays 2 piece FN-II black lug nuts

I was worried I would have to run spacers to clear the Stoptech Trophy BBK but can confirm that it doesn't need them...

For tires, I didn't want to break the bank since I wanted another set of TE37s dedicated for track use so I ordered Falken Azenis RT615K+ in 255/40/17 and these run true to size...

Since the car was awaiting tire mounting, I decided to order new floor mats from Evasive. My logic of thinking was if I'm going to spend $$$ on OEM then I might as well purchase the ASM Ruby floor mats for LHD...

Seeing how much of a difference new floor mats made in the interior, I ordered more parts from Evasive...
OEM rear view mirror (old one was peeling)
Spoon Sports blue wide view mirror
Works Bell standard hub 223 (I'm not a fan of quick release set ups)
Personal Grinta 330mm x Advan steering wheel (This is the only steering wheel to my knowledge with a slight concave face and red center stripe like seen in Porsches)
OEM NSX-R horn button
Evasive Motorsports titanium (polished) countersunk steering wheel bolts 15mm
Circuit Hero Type A V2 stainless (polished) steel shift knob 500grams
J's Racing red shift boot ring

I wish the previous owner never sold the ASM exhaust it had but beggars can't be choosers. I spent days and nights researching exhaust sounds and because I have the ASM single exit rear bumper my choices were limited. Eventually I chose to go with T1R 70R-EM with a Toda Racing 60-70mm adapter test pipe (still waiting for it as I type this). I also ordered a K1 carbon fiber ducktail...

When it comes time to send it to paint, I plan on having them plug the single exit bumper so I can run a center exhaust. I've only seen 2 photos online of this being done...

This HKS Hi-Power 75mm exhaust + Berk 70mm test pipe has seen better days. My reason for the exhaust change is because of the drone and has a crack that I always speculated but couldn't confirm until I removed it...

In February 2025, my Powerhouse Amuse R1 Titan Legalo front bumper arrived and was told the rest of my aero parts will be coming in soon!
