^^ Is that a twin or a four cylinder? The 600cc are fours I know. Even though it says ninja, it looks to be a departure from the normal superbike lineage. I'm haven't been keeping up on all the models lately.

It's a Twin. I'd describe it as more of a sport tourer than a super sport bike. Much more upright position.

I used to ride back in the day which were the late 80's for me. I learned to ride on a Honda interceptor and my first bike was a 1980 Honda CB650 which was a great cruising bike I always enjoyed it. I moved up to a 87 Yamaha FZ700 which was a sport bike which I also enjoyed but was a diffrent riding experience than the CB650. The Yamaha was quick for back then but compared to now we have cars that are quicker,

I know Honda is well respected as an engine builder, I always thought that Yamaha was one of the best engine builders too, any opinion on who builds the best motorcycle engines among any of the manufacturers ?

Honda and Yamaha have always been the best out of the 4. Kawi and Suzuki were always behind the curve since the Japanese took over in the cycle world in the early/mid 70's. Especially with the off road bikes.

While not a motorcyle but close being a snowmobile I will say the best motorized vehicle I have owned not only for the engine but the entire build quality was my Yamaha SX/600R. I rode it for 14 seasons and never did anything but routine maintenance on it, even the suspension held up never an issue.
