Default NSR250 with XR650L motor

Here's another project bike gone wrong. It's a 1990 NSR250 (Japan only) with a 2003 Honda XR650L motor. LOTS of fabrication, including external oil sump and lines, custom engine mounts, custom SS exhaust with Akro pipe, a hogged out tank to allow for a 41mm Mikuni Flatslide, working headlight and turn signals and MagTek magnesium rims (stock). The bike weighed only about 225lbs and my butt-dyno said it had about 46-48hp. GREAT FUN for about 10 minutes, and then my knees would start burning. A six-footer weighing 225lbs (plus) just should not be allowed on a small bike.

Oh, the bike used to have a KX250 engine--hence the tank logo.

My 'butt dyno' now says "SOLD".

I've still got the RC51 with 128 rwhp, and the 888 at 375lbs wet with about 105hp, so I'm still having fun...

That bike looks rad! How did you get a Japan-only bike?
