Lane (turbolane), With your car, I count 45(confirmed) of 50(max) signed up with two more cars unconfirmed. There are at least three more spots available in this Fall BMT 2014. We look forward to including you and your Porsche Cayman S in this event!

The latest local weather forecast for BMT weekend in Northwest Arkansas is: Friday-sunny, with high of 54 deg. F with a low Friday night of 28 deg. F. BMT Saturday: sunny, with a high of 53 deg. F with a low Saturday night of 35 deg F. Sunday-partly cloudy, with a high of 58 deg. F. This is the temperature range the BMT staff hope for as the cold temps discourage the slow driving motorcycle bunch from clogging the mountain roads.

while warmer weather is nice, what Jerome said is very true. After years of these events, this weather is almost perfect. It'll warm up enough to be nice but the cold mornings will scare away tourists and motorcyclists. You'll have a lot more fun with less traffic on the route with the colder temps.

Hey Jerome, Andy, Julie,
I'm curious about the performance of our summer tires. We're looking at temps in the 30's for Saturday morning. I'm riding on new summer shoes.
From my experience, they do alright at 40's and 50's.
Thanks and see you later today.

Jeff (Kcfan1970), Good question! It is my understanding that tire manufacturers recommend that summer tires are good for use at 35 deg. F or above. However, I have noticed that the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position (summer tires) on my S2000 just take longer to warm up (and harder to keep warm) when used on previous BMT events where the tour has started in temps below 35 deg. F. If the temperature Saturday was not expected to get above 32 deg. F, I would advise against running them. Thank goodness, the weather is expected to reach 50 deg. F tomorrow.
BMT Group Leaders (and participants) should take the air temperature into consideration before increasing the group's speed to 'spirited' levels tomorrow morning.

You're supposed to set them when they're cold so I'd say 8am before the drive and preferably in the shade. We'll be fine with summer tires; just take it easy until it warms up. My tires were at 32 psi last weekend but because of the temperature change overnight, they were down to 30 psi this morning so I just bumped them up to 34 psi and I plan on rechecking them tomorrow morning. I'll have a cheap portable air compressor (they're like $10 at Big Lots) if anyone needs to add air in the morning.
I look forward to seeing you all soon!
