Default Fall 2020 BMT

Dear Friends,

You are invited to join other S2000 owners and driving enthusiasts for the 28th semi-annual S2000 Boston Mountains Tour!!!

This tour will cover some of the best winding and scenic roads that the Arkansas Boston Mountains range of Central and Northwest Arkansas has to offer with roads that challenge even the most experienced drivers.

On Saturday, November 7th, all drivers will be given a tour packet that will have your group number, route with turn-by-turn directions, and lunch and dinner maps (if applicable). The Arkansas Boston Mountains Tour is one of the best environments for you to fully enjoy what your S2000 was made to do - TURN!

The BMT is a great social event and you will have the opportunity to meet great people from across multiple states. We look forward to seeing you there!

When:
Saturday, November 7th, 2020

Time:
Registration Opens at 7:30 a.m.
Mandatory Drivers Meeting: 8:00 a.m.
Tour Starts: 8:30 a.m.

Where:
Eureka Springs, AR

Hotel Booking Information:
Best Western Eureka Inn
101 E. Van Buren St.
Eureka Springs, AR 72632
1-800-221-3344

We have a room rate of $114.95/night when you mention the S2000 Boston Mountains Tour.

Itinerary
November 6th:

We will be having a social on Friday evening starting at 7 p.m. We will not be able to have an "official" social on Friday evening like we normally do thanks to the pandemic, but people are still free to hang out if they like on their own. Obviously that will be up to the sole discretion of those involved.
This is a good opportunity to hang out and catch up, or get to know some of your fellow BMTers.

November 7th:
Registration, drivers meeting, and then we drive! Please be fueled up and have your car ready prior to the drivers meeting. The morning and afternoon routes will take us down some of the best roads Arkansas has to offer. There will be some rest stops along the way, too.
You will want to get fuel at the lunch stop before you eat to save time once lunch is over. Your tour guide will make sure you stop at the right place.

After the tour is over you are free to join us as there will also be another social gathering at the hotel in the evening.

November 8th:
Checkout of the hotel and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Arkansas landscape as you make your way home.

"So, how do I sign up?" you might ask...Well, here's how!

In this thread, post your name, what you're going to be driving, if you're going to have a passenger(+1), and what state you're coming from so we can keep track of everyone.
If you need to cancel, no big deal, it happens. Just reply here to let us know.

We're trying to keep sign ups and cancellations in one spot, so if you'll simply put them in here that will make it much easier for us.

This tour is limited to 50 cars and these spots fill up fast, so secure your spot ASAP!

Reminders will be given periodically as we get closer to the event to inspect the following:
  • Car (registration)
  • Tires (including spare)
  • Alignment
  • Brakes
  • Fluids
Extra items that are good to have on you:
  • 2 way radio, see notes below
  • Paper map (usually available at the beginning of the tour) since a lot of the areas we drive through don't have very good cell reception
  • Fire extinguisher (small)
  • Small tool kit
Other requirements to participate are as follows:
  • You must be 18 years of age or older
  • You must have a valid driver's license
  • Your car must have current registration
  • You must have a valid proof of insurance
  • Your tires must have at least 3/32" of tread on them at their lowest point

It is a good idea to have a 2-way radio with you. Although not a requirement, it will help your group leaders to communicate with you about upcoming road conditions, turns, or any other information that may be important for the group to know. It also provides the ability for people in the group to communicate with their Tour Guide or other members of the group as needed. In general, they are just a helpful tool to have in the car with you.

Sean Van Meter, Olathe, KS 2008 S2000 - This is kinda Tentative. I'm in Financial close still that weekend so I won't know if I can for sure make it until much closer and possibly even that week leading up to it.
