We'll probably hit the road from Frisco, TX between 9:00 and 9:30, so should be there between 3:30 and 4:00. I've wanted to do this tour for a long time and now live close enough to make it happen.

 

We are leaving from McKinney at 8:00 am and will take back roads all the way. You are welcome to join us if you would like. Just let me know.

FM 195 to middle of nowhere
OK 37 to Idabel
70 by-pass around Idabel
US 259 to Talimena Scenic Drive
Talimena Scenic Drive to Mena
US 71 to the middle of nowhere
Akansas 23 to Eureka Springs (parts include the Pig Trail)

Thanks, Brian. It sounds like a great drive but would add more miles and hours than we would like.

 

Dang this Dallas crew loser can't leave Mckinney/Allen area till noonish. haha When's the 2nd Dallas crew leaving? I might take the same route you guys are but later.

 

We're going to take US 75 onto US 69, then on to I-40 and I-49 and on to Eureka Springs. We plan to stop for lunch in Eufaula, OK at a place called I Smell Bacon.

 

I'm now taking a full day off from work on Friday and can go with you guys on this. Where are guys meeting in Mckinney on Friday?

 

Ditto for me ... before all the deer come out to play. Leaving Texas Thursday, going through Paris area and Talimena Scenic Drive, sleeping somewhere off the I-40 corridor, then playing on the fun roads Friday till I check in before dark.
Is anybody planning dinner out Friday?

 

Mike and I are leaving Austin tomorrow at noon to Paris, Texas
Thursday, we're driving from Paris to Mt Magazine State Park (Paris, AR). --> Paris to Paris!
Friday, we'll be driving a bunch of roads between Paris, AR and Eureka Springs, arriving in town around 3-4 pm.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again. It's been too long.

 

We will be having dinner out Friday but have no idea where.
