Calipers?

I thought I put this query here but I guess it went National since an a-hole from Cleveland read me the riot act about how tacky painted/wrapped calipers are. Anyway I want to perhaps wrap my calipers in red (my car is NFR) so I need help and advice. I have seen a couple of videos which reinforce my need to avoid self-installation. So your input is invited. I apologize if this is a duplicate thread. I am frightfully old (today is my BD in fact) so the usual old-guy stuff applies.

Thanks,

Bob

It IS a duplicate...dammit!

Read you a riot act? :) Huh? Fluff is fluff. It has no function. If you want a fluffy car go for it. It's your car. I'll bet we all have played Barbie for Boys at one time in our lives. Perhaps continually. If you know anyone with a M1911 pistol (now we're talking Barbie for Big Boys) they can produce pages of websites and maybe drawers of fluff they've bought for theirs. Rosewood or ivory grips serve the same purpose as red or blue or yellow brake calipers.

For me if someone says "nice brake calibers/grips" I've blown it. I want them to say "nice car/pistol."

Mod to your hearts content, there was no malice in my post. Amazement, sure. :)

Yeah, thanks Mr. Gun Guy. If you check out my original thoughts, nowhere did I ask for fashion advise. Thanks for sharing your wonderful world of opinions.

just get high temp paint at autozone or pepboys. mask off all the parts you dont want painted and then rattle can it. get some clear coat too. i've always liked painting ugly looking calipers an "aluminum"/silver color.

i could do that for you. by that do you mean disassembly, prep, installation of vinyl, install of calipers, fluids and bleeding? or not planning to take the calipers off?

Seems like that is the best method I suppose. That's what the shop included, all that. Some opinions favor leaving them off. Of course I am befuddled. Plus I just got told I need a new ac/ heating system for the house for $11K. Budget is destroyed. PM me with your thoughts or proposal. Thanks.

I actually don't find them tacky. I'd like to have mine done. Please PM me as well for details!
I prefer to have this color. See pic.
Happy Birthday btw Bob.
