Default Convertible Top Control Unit

My top and passenger window stopped working recently. I've verified it's not the master lock switch and I've check all relevant fuses under the hood and under the steering wheel. From a simple search, it seems that the convertible top control unit craps out mostly in older cars (I have a '00). Does anyone around here have an extra unit for me to test and possibly purchase? I still haven't had a chance to test the motor which I plan to do soon.

I'm not sure if this unit is compatible across all years but you might want to give The Shop in San Bruno a call. They have a whole bunch of parts left over from a 2004 S2000 that they recently parted out. I picked up some interior pieces from them for my Rollbar install.

Thanks for the heads-up. Just as a note, the continuity on the passenger switch is fine and the wipers work (some posts noted this wasn't working in some instances).

Is the top stuck open, closed, or somewhere in between?

Both top and passenger side window are in closed position.

Just wanted to close this out. I picked up a used control unit on ebay with a much higher serial number (didn't want one from the early years like my MY2000) and it fixed the issue. For future reference, the part number is 86500-S2A-A01.

Default Convertible Top Control Unit

I'm having a same problem with both the soft top and the passenger window not working. Is it really easy to replace the top control module? Thanks

Appears to be held in by one bolt under the right side lower dashboard. Two (2) multi conductor electrical plugs on the front edge (facing the inside of the car). I don't know what's on the back but probably no more than another connector. Looks easypeasy.

Hi Chuck, I’m having the most difficult time locating exactly where the soft top control module is. Are you able to take a photo and or be more specific? i feel so dumb haha
