Finally the CR wing is on. But I had to go through a lot of trouble to get it the way I wanted to. I put the car in the shop last week in order to repaint the rear bumper (had some damage) and the wing (it was originally Berlina Black). Got it back and I thought the shop was gonna do the metal plate or at least washers on the spoiler, but it came directly on the trunk lid. So I had to do it myself.

I limited myself to 45 mph or less while in this state, I needed to get the proper reinforcement. Thanks to S2KI member Fasting, I used his method of the CR wing install on a NON-CR trunk. His thread is here: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/921...t__p__21504615

I know it would have been much easier buying a CR trunk, but saving money is the name of the game. I think eventually I will have to get a CR trunk, but this works for me.

How it looked after I got it installed. No washers! Not good for long-term use.
[PHOTOBUCKET LINK NO LONGER WORKING] Bought 16 GSA sheet metal from OSH. Fairly strong, it'll give the trunk lid a much more thicker surface area to help against deformation. 22 GSA metal was like soda can thin. (Lower GSA = more thicker)

Used a dremel tool to cut the metal. Wear proper safety gear. Lots of sparks.

I went through 6 cutting wheels to cut all the metal out.

Finished with the plates sans holes. I broke the keyless chuck on my drill to make the holes. It was worth the effort.

Placing the plate in the trunk. You can see the holes line up. I bent the plates slightly to match the curve of the trunk.

Spoiler installed, driver side. The holes are ugly, but I will use my dremel sander to make them look more cosmetically pleasing. Also have to use touch-up paint on the edges.

Passenger side plate installed. Nudging the plate inside was tougher on this end, as there was some gum/glue thing under the trunk support. Basically the plate pushed it around.

The wing as it should look. I still need to install the stiffeners, but that should be easy. Just need to replace the keyless chuck on my drill and it should only take 20 minutes for the remaining part.

I am much happier and comfortable being able to drive now with the wing. It gives a definite effect at about 50-60 mph...but I have yet to test it in much more twistier roads

Wow very nice... Are you going to pair it up with a cr front? or a splitter? My thought process has always been that if you force the rear down the front will wanna lift.

Slight drag, but I haven't tested it in a high speed corner. We'll just have to see tomorrow night!

I'll get a front CR lip later. For now it'll have to do. I have the OEM AP2 lip, I don't think it gives any downforce, if at all.

Glad to hear you got the wing on. It looks very good. I kinda wish I kept it now, LOL. Do you mind sharing how much you spent on paint for the rear bumper?

Repainting the rear bumper, the spoiler, and having them drill the holes for the spoiler cost me north of eight hundred. If I had bought the CR trunk primered from the dealership, it would cost $575 alone. Then you'd have to pay for paint and install and it would have gotten more expensive.

CR lip has been wind tunnel tested as with all CR parts. it does make a difference but I still think its negligible, but it does look damn good!
