Major Surgery!!! Body Shop Pictures
Thanks everyone for the condolences and all the good advice. Menlo and their contract body shop, Superior Body, seem to be doing an excellent job so far. I've snapped a few photos from the body shop. I'm sure when she's all fixed up, she'll be as good as NEW!!!

Then comes paint, and then reassembly of the entire front end. Please help me wish her to a fast and healthy recovery. Thanks! |
Wow...I'm speechless. :eek2: Hope she comes back stronger than ever. Any estimates on how long the job will take???

man
that was horrible ... i am sorry to see what happened. but at least both of you walked away. i am just wondering ... the frame is bent? the car is totalled by the insurance company? |
If I have nightmares tonight, it's because of you Hams2k.
On a brighter note, I hope everything turns out well! :) |
The entire repair job was estimated to take 5 weeks. I'm thinking maybe 6, so we are halfway there now. The insurance company has got this body shop on their preferred list, so whatever the shop estimator says is word. I guess this way, the insurance company can hire fewer claims adjusters. But, I am impressed with this body shop. I was looking at a Jaguar convertible that had to replace the front end just like mine, and it looked great! I hope it drives like the original.
Yes, the frame was bent. The dimensional check points near the windshield were at factory tolerances. What the mechanic did was, he straightened out the front end, and reconfirmed that the part of the frame near the windshield was true and to specification before cutting the front off. That way, when the new frame gets welded on, it is also as true as can be. I'll have more pics as they come... S2Thizzle, I've had dreams about my S2k. Not crash dreams, but getting it back and cruisin again! :rev: Hope I didn't make anyone throw up, tho. Aite, take it EZ fellas. |
So is the car a slavage vehicle now? I can not imagine an insurance company not totaling out a car with that much damage. Best of luck, but I don't ever see that car being the same again.
|
Ugh! I am glad that the car is repairable and really hope it comes back to you stronger and straighter than ever. Hard to look at the car taken apart like that...and yet fascinating as well... Thanks for sharing, hope you get the car back on the road safely soon!
|
wow, mine looks like a fender bender compared... sorry buddy, hope it's coming along nicely.
|
suprised it's not a totalled car if the frame was bent.....
|
yeah, gee, I would imagine the insurance company would have just called that car totalled!
