Thunderhill makes deals a lot cheaper than the published rates for off-season 2-car rentals. You don't get flaggers or safety equipment, but you do get the bathrooms and clubhouse. Our final cost per person, per hour of actual driving (as much as we had energy for) was basically the same as any other track day.

Cool experience to drive West backwards, BTW. I'll post a video when I get around to it. We drove backwards using the long straight configuration that launches the car into the air right before the brake zone.

Yes to the bearings.

If your running stock tire sizes, your doing DAMN GOOD yourself.
In terms of gearing. The 4.44 does not match Sonoma at all. I'm actually in the same gear as when I was running stock gearing through all corners except for the ass clinching turn 10.
Right on, good call on the Ohlins. I'm looking forward to spec'ing myself a set whenever my shocks finally let go. Makes sense with the 4.44, I was thinking "damn, how is he in 4th gear through 3/3a and getting into 5th so often!"

Hope to see you out there sometime next year!

Knocked a couple tenths off Thunderhill West on Friday. It was a hot day and the tires have 4 days on them, so I'm guessing there's a 1:25 in there somewhere. Here's a 1:26.35.

Well done! I've still yet to run West, looks like a really fun, technical layout. I'll be running the East course with Speed SF on Friday in case anyone's joining.

Actually I still took 3/3a in 4th before the 4.44. You gonna be at Sonoma this weekend? I'll be there on Sunday.

I experimented with 4th when I ran Sonoma in June but I'm not quite there yet. Being a wuss over 3a...

I'm not running Sonoma this weekend unfortunately. Been at various tracks the last three weekends in a row so some family time is in order! I do plan to run Thill first weekend in August. Hope to see you at the track at some point!
