Hi all,

I am in the market for a mint S2k. I have been on the hunt for couple weeks now but without success. There is one that is on my radar right now and the seller claims it's in meticulous shape, which is kind of hard for me to believe at this point as I have been lied to by many sellers at this time. I've seen pictures and cosmetic wise, it is in decent shape, but I would like to take the car to a shop where they can do a thorough check of the mechanical stuff. Can anyone recommend a shop that can do this?

FYI, I am in Oakland and I plan on shopping around within 50 miles radius so anywhere in the bay area would work find. (East bay is better but I can always drive.)

I did not PM, just replied here. Joey is a good guy.

 

Blacktrax charges $110 or so for a PPI. They also have a lot of support from the area.

 

I'll chime in, Foreign Affair in Santa Clara is where I took mine for a PPI.

I've been taking my Hondas and Acuras there for 10+ years.

 

I took my S2000 to AH Connection in San Jose before buying the car five years ago. They are primarily an Acura and Honda shop. I think I paid $150 but I also had them perform a compression test on the engine. Last I checked, they have nearly 5 stars on yelp.

 

When I was looking for cars I took one to Joey and two cars to BlackTrax. Which one I went to was mainly based on whichever suited the seller the best (time and location.) Both were fantastic and incredibly helpful in the decision making process on buying the car I ended up with.
