Should we get a new dealer?
We are working with Scott Thompson at El Cerrito Honda to get our 2002 Spa Yellow. Our patience is wearing thin. We have an agreement to purchase the car at $995 over MSRP and have given him a $500 deposit. He is trying to find us the Spa Yellow by dealer trade. We are dissapointed that we have to keep calling him to check in about progress - he's a very nice and seemingly honest person but has been more reactive than proactive with us so we are trying to decide what to do now. WE WANT OUR S2K!!!!!!!!!!! Should we go elsewhere? We'd appreciate any feedback all of you can give us. We've already ordered all kinds of accessories for our new S2K and we don't even have a delivery date yet!
Thanks to all of you for supporting our anxious waiting period!

Well, two things...
Check out S2ki MRSP dealers. Its in our site
If your deposit is refundable feel free to search for a new Honda Dealership.
If your deposit is not, you might have to sit on that dealer to get you your S2k.
Good Luck!

If I were in your position, I would be calling every Honda dealer in Northern California, plus probably Southern Oregon and Western Nevada. I had to track down my own car when the local dealer was being unreasonable (this was 1999, when they were harder to find). My local dealer takes just as good of care of me as if I had purchased the car there (better than the Nissan and VW dealers where I've purchased cars locally).
When I was looking for a New Beetle for my wife (I had to buy her one when I got my S2000), we just told several dealers what we wanted and bought from the first one that found it for us. It just happened to be the closest dealer as well.
Give him a deadline, then buy a car elsewhere.
