Anybody know where to get an SA-certified helmet in the south bay? I need to try them on, so don't want to order online. I called GP Sports on Camden and they were no help. A buddy said he got his at I/O Port Racing Supplies in Lafayette, but was hoping not to have to drive that far.

Just do the drive to I/O Port or Livermore. It will be worth it. If you are ever inthe northbay area, there is also a store inside Infenion that has a ton of helmets in stock.

Any particular reason why it needs to SA rated? Are you actually used it for W2W racing?

I want to do some HPDE events and I think NASA, HOD, and NCRC all require SA ratings, don't they? I was a passenger at an HOD event a few months back and they were checking every helmet. I assumed the others did too.

No. Almost all HPDE organizations will accept a M rated helmet.

I use the same helmet when I ride my motorcycle and when I drive my car on the track.
