Hi All,
Just thought I'd throw this out there just in case some of you haven't heard about this place. I haven't been there yet, but my buddy has a membership and says it is a lot of fun. I'm hoping to try it soon. Maybe an interesting place for an S2000 Owners meet???

I've been there twice and it's a blast!!
The facilities, track, karts, and all the equipment are brand new. after you sign up for a race, they issue you a full jumpsuit, Sparco neck brace, gloves, face mask, and a full-face Bieffe helmet. You can also bring your own DOT/Snell approved helmet. There's even a briefing session before you race. On the track, there are 12 cars at once, and you run for about 12 minutes (seems short, but it's not). you basically compete for fastest lap time (in open practice at least)
you have to make reservations first, and you can sign up a max of 12 people, for $20 each.
it was seriously fun and realistic, definitely worth checking out.

i think i was in redwood city going north on 101 and there's an outdoor go kart place that you can see from the highway. anyone know what that is?
but back on topic, are you sure 12 max?
from the website:

Geared towards individual glory; competitors battle it out for top honors in a series of races. Each participant will receive practice laps and 4

The go-cart place you see on 101N is Malibu Grand Prix which is alright but you race one at a time and the cars go to about 30-40mph which isn't bad. A little expensive though as you have to pay for membership the first time and also for laps. Not a bad place, but I think it'd be funner to race against people all at the same time though. I'd go for the indoor cart place, how fast do the carts go there?

So I went by there tonight with a guy from work and a couple friends of his. It was great. We should all meet there sometime.. maybe even see if we can set up a race, practice, qualifying, race.. they do that nightly for $50/person maybe we could populate the whole grid.. thatd be sweet.
Anyway, the cars are pretty damned quick. Mine had an alignment issue, the fornt left wheel had 5+ degrees of toe out, where the front right was straight.. i think that was an anomoly. The are lacking in both power and thorttle response down low, but once they get into revs, they're alright.. Only rear brakes, and the tires give little warning before they let go.. which resulted in me doing 3 360's in 23 laps, but my times got steadily better. pretty fun overall.
Oh, and the S2000 felt really big when I got back in it.
