First track day of the year is next week at Sears Point Raceway (Vallejo, CA) and Laguna Seca a month after that.
I'll be there Sunday at Sears and Saturday at Laguna Seca, hope to see you guys out there!

I was an avid dragster but now am enticed by the thought of road-racing. Does this NASA event offer and instructional driving course? If so, I'd be definitely intersted.
BTW> Sears Pointe Raceway is in Sonoma, CA and has one of the worst (if not the worst) 1/4 mi strips in CA!

What they do is have instructors drive with you if you're in Group 1. They'll give you tips, show you the racing line, etc... it's offered by the people to help you have a fun and safe time on the track and doesn't cost anything, you merely just need to request it.

I'm interested in finding out more about these events. Having just completed my first track event (street school at thunderhill) I've kinda got the bug. What is the registration process? How much does it cost? Do you have to buy a helmet, or can you rent one? Are our roll hoops adequate? The idea of going to sears point or laguna seca is really appealing. They're alot closer than thunderhill. Any info would be appreciated.

Visit the site and/or call their number they'll give you all the information.
FYI offhand, trackday for Sears, 1 day is $150, 1 day at Laguna Seca is $250, add $100 to either for 2day events.
You provide your own helmet, our roll bars are enough.
enjoy and hope to see you there!
