Some of the old cars at our second stop.
It was nice to meet you at the first rest stop, even though I wasn't on your list
. Ratgirl and Brant, nice meeting you too! I saw WAYYYY to much of the back end of those "Hot Rods" on the trip back - I meant to comment on them early but forgot, I'll remedy that now. Those "Hot Rods" left 10+ minutes before we did; I was the 5th car back from the lead (right behind Kuni) and in the middle of a FAST sweeping right we caught up with them, requiring heavy braking and a white knuckled prayer that the back end would stay put. If they had been doing close to the speed limit it would have been fine, but...
It was kind of aggravating - they were doing 25-30mph in areas posted for 50mph (where all other traffic was doing more), they never let us pass, even when we reached 2-lane surface streets they fanned out and blocked the way. Lotta respect for Old Original Rodders (being vintage myself) but c'mon man, at least do the speed limit!
Fortunately Kuni pulled into the rest area we stopped at on the way out, collecting the troops and putting some space between us. Then George led us down at a nice pace near my limits, until we caught up with them (and the original 3 lead cars) again, and pokeyd down the hill at a pace a yugo would be bored with.

To all,
The list is too long for people to thank. Again you all proved how amazing a community of people the S2Kers are!!!! New faces and old, from near and very far away. Special props to the Seattle crew, Tokyo James, and Stocky for making the trek to join us.
The drive was almost secondary compared to the people and BBQ. We all wish the best for Paul, and as I can personally attest...he was doing well at the end of the night. Made for a long day after taking them home, but was comforting to see him in good spirits.
Hope to see you all again very soon, possibly for a nice San Diego gathering.
For those that changed your mind last minute or decided not to attend............you really missed out!
Be safe everyone,
David "Hockey"

HUGE thanks to Raptor for hosting the event. Only regret having to leave early cuz my wife got car sick due to first time ever driving the canyon with a hard top. The heat didn't help much either. It was a pleasure to meet some of you and a bummer to not meet all of you. Was great to see alot of faces I have not seen in almost a year. SteveUCI, it was nice to see you again...
