A huge thank you to Raptor and Mrs. Raptor for putting on a great BBQ and Run. Paula and I have never been to such an event (up until 3 months ago we had family cars) and she was a little apprehensive about it. On the way home she kept telling me what a great group of people and what a great time she had.

Great People + Great Food + Fun Run = Great time had by all!!!!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone real soon.

Oatnet, get the name of George's neighbor. Maybe he needs a second bus, as you and I discussed he's out of room on his for more stickers!

Hey guys,
I had a nice time too. What a great bunch of people. Thank you to all that were involved in orchestrating this event. I apologize for not being more social, but the heat sucked the life right out of me!

Lets go through the tunnel next time!

I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.

Hey Kyras,

It was nice to meet you at the first rest stop, even though I wasn't on your list . Ratgirl and Brant, nice meeting you too!

I saw WAYYYY to much of the back end of those "Hot Rods" on the trip back - I meant to comment on them early but forgot, I'll remedy that now. Those "Hot Rods" left 10+ minutes before we did; I was the 5th car back from the lead (right behind Kuni) and in the middle of a FAST sweeping right we caught up with them, requiring heavy braking and a white knuckled prayer that the back end would stay put. If they had been doing close to the speed limit it would have been fine, but...

It was kind of aggravating - they were doing 25-30mph in areas posted for 50mph (where all other traffic was doing more), they never let us pass, even when we reached 2-lane surface streets they fanned out and blocked the way. Lotta respect for Old Original Rodders (being vintage myself) but c'mon man, at least do the speed limit!

Fortunately Kuni pulled into the rest area we stopped at on the way out, collecting the troops and putting some space between us. Then George led us down at a nice pace near my limits, until we caught up with them (and the original 3 lead cars) again, and pokeyd down the hill at a pace a yugo would be bored with.

It was nice meeting you too! I didn't know you before but I have "talked" to Brant and Ratgirl for over a year so it was especially nice to finally meet them face to face.

Thanks for the update on the old cars. I was in the back more and was surprised when we caught them at the bottom of the hill.

I hope I didn't cause too much of a problem. When I got to what had been our first stop, and saw you guys pulling back out after stopping to let the old cars get ahead, I stopped in the road so some of you could get out. Then I noticed the guys behind me were pilling up and it was a curve so I had to take off before someone plowed into the back of somebody else. I'm sorry if I caused a problem for those coming up behind me.
