Default Anyone Lend Me A Hardtop for the Track

Anyone in SD or LA have an extra hardtop they can lend so I can go to Buttonwillow without having to break the bank?

Why do you need a hardtop for the track?

It says in the track rules that convertibles need a roll bar so I’d rather just go there as a coupe so I don’t have to drill holes

Are you looking to put down a deposit for it in case it gets destroyed in an accident? The hard top is worth what like $4,000?

What organization are you going with? For most SoCal groups the factory roll bars are usually enough. I've seen many s2000 go with soft top and stock roll hoops but if your organization specifically calls out the s2000 (or all convertibles) and say they need a sanctioned aftermarket roll bar then that's a different story.

Haven’t done any research on that end but now I’ll ask around see which event will allow the factory roll hoops

Every organizer I've dealt with allow factory roll hoops unless:

If you have a fixed back bucket seat that requires a harness, you need a roll bar.

If you are boosted, you need a roll bar.

If you fail the broomstick test, you need a roll bar.

You realize that even with a Hardtop, our cars are still considered convertibles.

A lot of the aftermarket hardtops aren't strong rigid enough to replace the function of a roll bar.
