Default Bank of America SCAM

A scam that is rampant right now is someone will call stating they are from BoA and need your account/social information because there has been activity on your account or credit report, this is the part that usually alarms people and they dont fall for. However, if you arent there, they will leave you a message with a number to call back. When you call back, it will prompt and be the same message from BoA (they recorded it from them) so it sounds exactly like BoA when you call back and a lot of people are falling for it. This may have been going on in the past, but maybe not so much with an identical bank phone recording and system. If you google a number you get from them, youll surely see others complaining its a scam. Just wanted to give a heads up to the s2ki community

Thanks. It seems like scams always double during the holiday season.

I don't think it's B of A's fault scammers chose to target their customers.. Btw: it's not the bank scamming people.. It's criminals using the recordings

Exactly, also just because you do not bank with a particular bank doesnt mean someone didnt try to open a CC or other type of credit in your name.
